How to use the timesheet calculator

  1. Pick weekly or biweekly and set the first day of the pay period.
  2. Enter clock-in and clock-out times and unpaid breaks for each day. Use "Add shift" for split shifts.
  3. Add an employee tab for each person and enter their hourly rate.
  4. Print every sheet for signatures, or download one CSV with all employees for payroll.

What goes on a timesheet

A timesheet records the days worked, the start and end of each shift, unpaid breaks, and the total hours for the period. Payroll uses decimal hours, so 8 hours 15 minutes is written 8.25.

Each printed sheet shows the employee, the pay period dates, the hourly rate, every shift, regular and overtime hours, gross pay, and lines for the employee and manager to sign and date.

Common questions

How do I fill out a biweekly timesheet?

Enter the first day of the pay period, then each day's clock-in and clock-out times and unpaid breaks for both weeks. The calculator totals each week separately, works out overtime per week, and gives a printable sheet for signatures.

Why is overtime worked out for each week separately?

Federal law measures overtime per 7-day workweek. 50 hours one week and 30 the next is 10 hours of overtime, even though the two-week total is exactly 80 hours.

Can I keep timesheets for several employees?

Yes. Add up to 10 employees as tabs. Each has their own times and hourly rate, and you can print every employee's sheet at once, one per page.

How do I turn the timesheet into a PDF?

Choose Print timesheet, then select "Save as PDF" as the printer in your browser's print dialog.

Where is my timesheet stored?

Only in this browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Print or download the CSV to keep a copy or send it to payroll.
